Threading Tool
Threading Tool for threading a Diz (two shown, Diz not included). Very thin stainless steel wire will pull through 1mm hole.
Made from Rimu timber turned on a traditional pole lathe and thin stainless steel wire.
Finished with Tung Oil, Shellac and Beeswax.
Diz 2-6mm
Diz with 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6mm drafting holes.
What is a Diz? A Diz allows wool fibres to be drafted through the sized hole to create a nest of roving. This roving nest is much easier to spin on a drop spindle.
Made from figured Silkwood and finished with Tung Oil, Shellac and Beeswax.
Milking Stool
Rustic, Ebonized, Red Beech Milking Stool (only one left). These are very solid stools with considerable weight. Perfect for milking, hallway display or individual coffee table. Three legs ensure a very stable base on uneven surfaces.
Approximately 320mm tall with 230mm seat top.
Ebonizing produces a wonderfully rustic, deep black finish. Sealed with Tung Oil, Shellac and a final polish of Beeswax.
Honey Dipper

These are medium/large, approximately 200mm in length
Made from SIlver Beech and turned on a traditional handmade pole lathe.
Finished with Tung Oil, Shellac and Beeswax.

Body made from Rimu with beaks either Totara or Beech. Two finishes available:
i) Tung Oil and Beeswax – matte finish
ii) Tung Oil, Shellac and Beeswax – gloss finish
Necklace – hei matau
The fish hook shape of the hei matau has origins in Māori legend, which tells of Te Ika a Maui, a huge fish that was caught by the great mariner using only a woven line and a hook made from the jawbone of his grandmother.
For the Māori, the hei matau is taonga (a cultural treasure). It represents not only their land, but also prosperity, fertility and safe passage over water.
Handmade necklace from curly grain Silkwood (Flindersia brayleyana) and leather. Finished with shellac, carnauba wax and beeswax.
